Multi-Color Embossing-General Directions

by Cathy Peper, Editor

As stampers, I think we all remember the feeling of magic we felt when we were first introduced to heat embossing.  But with so many supplies to use, sometimes things get pushed to the side as we try new products.  This month here at Stamper's Quest, we are dusting off our embossing powders and doing something a little more advanced with them.  We will be showing you a couple different ways to use multiple colors of embossing powder on a single image.  I thought this stylized forest (from Onyx Xpressions) would be a fun one to emboss in some wild and imaginary colors.

This card, along with my card for the month and Nancy's card for the month, is done by sprinkling a single color of powder over part of the image, heat embossing and then moving on to the next color.  Rena uses the glitter lace technique with glitter embossing powder for a lovely multi-color look.  Multi colored embossing can also be achieved by using a versamarker pen and coloring in a line art image, although I must admit I've not had great success with this technique.

I hope you'll join us this month and create a multi-colored embossed image using one of these methods.
