Primarily Primary: Debbie’s View

Finished Card Size 6.5" x 5"

The Guy card always seems to be a challenge for women card makers, especially ones for younger men.  This card is made for a nineteen year old and proved to be an even bigger challenge.  I made this as a birthday card for my son, Patrick.

Supplies:
Scrapbook Stamp Society digital image (Morgan Fitzsimons)

 Sentiment  (JustRite Stamps)
Ink:
Azure Staz-On ink pad (Tuskineko)

Paper:
Red, Blue , Yellow  from my stash (Unknown)

White (Unknown)
Other:
Clear Star Gelly RollGel Pen (Sakura)

Photo corner punch (EK Success)
Glossy Accents (Ranger)
Nail Heads Metal stickers (Mark Richards)
Labels Sixteen (Spellbinders)
Copic Markers (.too, Inc.)
     R29, R46, B01, Y06, Y08, G14, G24
     YG61, YG63, YG67, C00, C2, C3, C7, C9, N5, 110

Directions:

  1. I started by coloring the image with Copic markers. Then I went over the car body with the  Star gel pen to add sparkle.
  2. I added the Glossy Accents to the body of the car.  The Glossy Accents make it look just like the finish on a real car.
  3. The next step was to  cut the corners of the red paper with  the paper punch that makes photo slits.
  4. Then I layered this on the yellow and blue card stock and added the nail heads to the corners.
  5. But the card still lacked something.  I felt it needed  something, but what?  I know we all have this  problem when dealing with guy cards. I decided on going with a sentiment and cutting it out with a Spellbinder die, and outlined with a copic marker.

I hope you enjoy my guy card.  We all know how hard these can be to make!  Thanks for stopping by.

Debbie

  1. Love this card! Never thought to use Glossy Accents on a car image. Great idea!
