Shopping Trip Card

Shopping Trip Card

A couple of weeks ago I went into a local stamp store, just to look around.  Well, I didn’t leave empty handed.  I purchased three small die-cuts and one stamp.  When I got home I couldn’t wait to see what I could do with my new toys.

I first looked at the memory box stamp and knew I wanted to use white ink.  I went through my stash and found a sheet of black paper that had been painted with Met Olive Green Lumiere metallic acrylic paint.  I stamped the stamp branches with white Fresh Ink pigment ink and embossed with glitter embossing powder, mounted on black paper and set aside.

I knew I had some designer paper with birds on it and went through my paper pads until I found a sheet in the Sunshine Cardstock paper by Lost & Found and cut it to fit (4.125” x 5.375”) the card base.

Next I punched out the 4 die-cut pieces with my Cuttlebug, using scraps of white glossy paper and tan paper.  The birdcage was centered over the paper bird design.   White embroidery floss was attached to the cage ring and taped to the back of the printed paper.  For the ringed buckle I ran some ribbon through the center of the buckle and wrapped around the stamped piece.

After I punched the two flower pieces from tan paper, I used a cotton swab and ink to add color to the centers of the flowers.  Next I curled the petals with a stylus on a sculpting pad and added a brad to the center.

Lastly I put all items on the mounted card base with pop dots.  And here is my finished card.

It's really cool to go home and use new toys right away, instead of  stashing them somewhere and forgetting you have them!

Hope you can find it. They had this in 2 sizes, that is why I listed the dimensions.
