Rubber Stamping Trivia – Worlds Largest Rubber Stamp!

I like fun and quirky bits of trivia so I thought I'd share some with you...

Do you know how big  or where the world's largest rubber stamp is located?

Believe it or not this "free" rubber stamp stands 28' 10"  tall, 26' wide by an amazing 49  feet long!!!  It was designed by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje Van Bruggen, for the SOHIO petroleum company which was headquartered in Cleveland.  Shortly there after BP took controlling interest in the company and balked at having it right outside their front doors.

After several years in storage in Whiting Indiana the mammoth stamp was moved to it's current location at Willard Park in Cleveland, Ohio (just 2 blocks from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame).

For the complete details and history of this fun and funky sculpture be sure to check out - All Things Cleveland Ohio.
