Whimsical Sun Hanger

Omni-Stick (Hammerhead America)
18 gauge Copper Wire (Unknown)
Beads (Blue Moon)
Craft Knife (X-Acto)
Round Nosed Pliers (Craftsman)

Directions: 

  1. Condition the clay by working it in your hands until it is pliable.
  2. Roll the clay out to a 1/8" thickness by 4" diameter.
  3. Ink the stamp and press into the clay pull the stamp away from the clay and trim out with the craft knife.

  5. Harden the clay per manufacturers instructions and allow to cool.
  6. Once the piece has cooled, pick up some of the pewter colored rub-on with your fingertip and apply over the front of the piece, allowing the recessed areas to remain purple.

  8. Apply a thin layer of Diamond Glaze over the front of the piece and allow to dry, flip over and repeat on the back side.
  9. To create the hanger, cut a piece of copper wire about 18" long, grasp one end and shape - bending around in a circular motion, continuing to bend the wire at the top until you get a shape you like. The top should have an opening large enough to fit over the object it will be hanging from.

  11. Grasp the tail of the wire with the pliers and wrap - creating an ornate appearance, finishing about 5" away from the top wrapping. pic4
  12. Add beads to the wire hanger as desired, adhering with the Omni-Stick and allow to dry.
  13. Using Omni-Stick Adhesive attach the hanger, centering, to the back of the piece and allow to dry.

  2. Oh very lovely, I love making ornaments, I have made ton's of them..
    However I have to confess soom were too ugly to do any thing with...:).. this is definatly not one of thoes ugly ones... thanks for sharing.
