Holiday Splendor:December 25th Gift Topper
December 25th Gift Topper
by: Christine Candora-Hickey, Artistic Guide
One of my favorite ways to wrap presents is in a plain brown paper bag. It's a great way to recycle and gives a very understated look to something special. Sometimes I will use a wheel to stamp a design all over the bag, but more often than not I will attach a gift topper to the top. It adds a punch of interest and color to a simple wrapping.
Supplies:
Stamps:
December 25 (Stampington & Co.)
Paper:
Forest Green cardstock (Bazzil)
Red cardstock (Bazzil)
Other:
Bleach
Holiday ribbon (May Arts)
Hand die and die cut machine (mine is an AccuCut machine)
UHU gluestick
button hole paper punch (Stampin' Up!)
Directions:
- Use your die cut machine to punch out a hand shape from green cardstock. [If you do not have a die cut machine, simply trace a hand shape and cut out with scissors].
- On the red cardstock, stamp December 25th image in bleach. Set aside for bleach to activate and dry.
- One the cardstock has been bleached by the image and is dry, trim closely.
- Slip the image into the fingers of the hand and glue in place with gluestick.
- Near the wrist, use the button hole punch to punch holes to thread ribbon.
- Thread ribbon through holes and tie a bow.
- Place on top of a special gift!
