Finished canvas measures 4" x 4"

Supplies:
Stamps
Distressed Snowman (Stampers Anonymous)
Snowflake (Bartholomew's Ink)
Paper
While mulberry paper (unknown)
Sparkle white cardstock (Stampin' Up!)
Ink
Denim Adirondack dye ink pad (Ranger)
Moonlight White Brilliance pigment ink pad (Tsukineko)
Other
4" x 4" canvas, primed (Winsor & Newton)
Pearl White acrylic paint (Lumiere)
Titanium White acrylic paint (Golden)
Blueberry Bliss Radiant Pearls (Angelwings Enterprises)
Regular matte gel medium (Golden)
Fabri-Tac (Beacon Adhesives)
Book text
Star brads (unknown)
Upholstery tacks
Navy blue satin ribbon (PSX)
Paint brushes
Scissors
X-acto knife
Heat tool (Milwaukee)
Rubber mallet

Directions:

  1. Begin by mixing equal parts of the Blueberry Bliss Radiant Pearls with the Pearl White acrylic paint.  Do not mix well - this will create different depths when painted on the canvas.
  2. Apply the paint mixture to the canvas (I use primed canvas so I can get right down to work!).  Let dry completely or use heat tool to set.
  3. Cut the white mulberry paper free-hand to mimic snowdrifts.  Apply to the dried canvas using gel medium.  Brush on a light coat of Titanium white paint to create depth in the snow.
  4. Ink the snowflake stamp with Moonlight white ink and stamp repeatedly onto the canvas.  Use a heat tool to heat set.
  5. Ink the snowman stamp with the Denim ink pad.  Stamp onto the white sparkle cardstock and cut out using scissors and an x-acto knife.
  6. Adhere the snowman to the canvas using gel medium.
  7. Snip the stems off of the star brads.  Adhere the stars to the canvas using gel medium.
  8. Cut out found text from an old book.  Adhere the text to the canvas using gel medium.
  9. Snowman Canvas Detail

  10. Cut a length of ribbon.  Hide the frayed edges by gluing under using Fabri-Tac.
  11. Run a bead of Fabri-Tac down the side of the canvas.  Glue the ribbon in place.  Repeat on the opposite side of the canvas making sure to leave enough ribbon slack at the top for hanging.
  12. Using a rubber mallet, tap in the upholstery tacks at the top of each side of the canvas.
  13. Snowman Canvas Detail tack

  14. Hang on the wall, from a door knob or on the end of a banister.
