Melanie’s Favourite Things, page 2
Welcome Inside My House
Inside the house is a cat. I love cats. I love everything about them. Their smell, their softness, their cunning, cunning ways, their strange and wonderful personalities and the fact that they can get away with sleeping for 16 hours a day and have their food delivered to them everyday. Ah, what a life. Also inside the house are some flowers. Now I quite like flowers - any kind of flowers. So if any of you would let my husband know, that would be great. These are just some that I bought and added some black kindy glitz to the centres - I like a little bling but not too much.
Inside the windows to my house is snoozing and coffee. I love sleep. I love waking up from a really good night's sleep and feeling all energetic and ready to tackle the day and all it will bring me. I also love sleeping in on the weekend and waking up to coffee that my husband has made - well I guess I can forgive the lack of flowers really if it means a nice coffee in the morning. But the sleep I love the most is when the babies that I look after are all having a syncronised sleep. It gives me time to sit and think about what I need to do, and sometimes (a rare sometimes) I can even get a little papercrafting done.
This tag is made with an old Lotto ticket - I love to dream of winning the lotto and all the things that I could do with the money. Now I would have to win the big one because I have BIG plans for that money! (he he) I have used some pages fom an old book too - My favourite books are the ones that will keep my daughter quiet for any amount of time (her second favourite thing to do is talk and she is very 'good' at it). I've used some gesso and distress inks to add texture and colour to the tag. The other tags are in various stages of decoration. I wanted to include a half finished one and a blank one. These would symbolise endless possibilities. And that is definitely one of my most favourite things - the future and all that it could be. And cheesy as it may sound I like to think about my future with Stamper's Quest and where it will take me.

Thank you for this information. I have to aquire some of thoes Rangers... truly this is the colors and looks I love. I am not in to cutesy, landscapes, or any thing to cut and driesd. Layers of paper and inks. thanks again and double wow for you! wow wow!!
My plan for Thanksgiving gifts is to make the Gift tags for everyone for their Christmas gifts... we shall see how some turn out. I only have to make 120 or so. This should be fun. Oh yess, some will get some ugly ones.
Thank you for your lovely comments. I can tell you that the colours on those tags were Ranger Distress Inks. The green would be 'peeled paint' and I woiuld have some 'vintage photo' and 'spiced marmalade'. I like to sponge the colours on with Ranger Cut'n'dry foam. When all the colours were on I 'flicked' some water over and then blotted of with paper kitchen towel. The scroll was done by sponging through a pebbles Inc stencil. Thanks Again, Melanie
Melanie, love this book/album. Unique Idea. I have zillions of blank manilla tags of all sizes (yeah just had to have them as someone was doing an order overseas very cheap!) and there are only so many tags one can make LOL...
Well xmas is coming up, I guess I can use some of them for gift tags....
I love the colors and the blending, what is the secret to making the colors like that? I make mud. blech!
You and I have some of the same dreams... I found that if I want flowers I tell Jimdear that some fresh flowers would be wonderful for the house. he brings them home. ya got to love that. My babies are way beyond the sleep issues. And if they are up and around I get to say TTFN I am out of here and in the my space. they all know where that is.
Dag still loving the coloring - still keeping in touch on this one. The tags are an idea that is never old and has several uses.. I jsut need the color ability.
Melanie, great concept. A picture journal = love it.
Love the tags there - Never thought to piece together book pages and other things. Great idea!
