Mysterious Wolf for the Adventurer

Mysterious Wolf
By: Shelly Newkirk, Artistic Guide

Finished card size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Wolf stamp (Whispers)
Pine bough with pine cones (unknown)
White card stock (Georgia Pacific)
Jet Black Archival Ink (Ranger)
Dark yellow and brown colored pencils (Rose Arts)
Glue (Crafter's Pick Ultimate Glue)

  1. Cut white cardstock to 8.5" x 5.5". Fold in half to create a card measuring 4.25" x 5.5".
  2. Sponge black ink around entire card base front.
  3. Stamp pine bough at the very top and bottom of the card.
  4. Lightly color the pinecones brown.
  5. On a separate piece of white card stock, using black ink, stamp the wolf.  Color the eyes of the wolf dark yellow.
  6. Cut out the wolf.  This stamp has a narrow frame that is part of the image so I cut along that frame.
  7. Sponge black ink around the entire piece.
  8. Glue the image to the card base.

Tip - for a nice smooth finish I place my cards under a heavy book until the glue is dry.  When you use double-sided tape, you will not get the smooth flat results that you get using glue.  The glue makes the card slightly damp so it will dry flat and crisp under a heavy book.

  4. Again with the colored eyes it really draws you in. This is a great WOW factor for a card. I love the layering with the pine you did to bring the forest scene more into it.
