Directions:

  1. Begin by folding an 8.5" x 11" of black cardstock in half.  Crease using a bone folder.
  2. Stamp the background.  Stamp a bold image flower and hand-drawn berries with leaf with Blanco ink multiple times; stamp vine and berries with black pigment ink option pad from Petal Point set multiple times.  Make sure to stamp over the edge of the card and to overlap your images.  Heat quickly with heat tool to dry and set.
  3. Emboss the background.  Stamp squiggle flower with white pigment ink option pad from Petal Point multiple times.  Sprinkle wet image with detail white embossing powder and heat with heat tool.  Stamp bold posie with black pigment ink option pad from Petal Point set multiple times.  Sprinkle with black detail embossing powder and heat with heat tool.  Make sure to stamp over the edge of the card and to overlap your images.
  4. Run a strip of red line tape from left to right across the card.  Remove protective strip and adhere polka dot ribbon.  Set card aside.
  5. Using a piece of white cardstock, stamp hand-drawn flower and leaves with black die ink.  Trim closely with scissors and layer onto a piece of black cardstock.  Trim closely again.
  6. Cut a piece of polka dot scrapbook paper to approximately 3" x 2.75".  Distress edges by tearing and inking with black pigment ink option pad from Petal Point set.
  7. Tear a long strip of black mulberry paper by hand.  Adhere to the top and bottom sides of the polka dot paper.
  8. Mount cut out flower to the polka dot paper and then mount entire completed piece to the left hand side of the card, over the ribbon.  Use glue stick to adhere this piece.
  9. Using small alphabet stamps, stamp the first line of the chorus from the song Ebony & Ivory.  Cut out each word individually and adhere to the card using glue stick.  For visual balance, make sure that some words are adhered above the ribbon and the rest of the words are adhered below the ribbon.
  10. Don't forget to sign your work!  Because we are working on black cardstock, use a white gel pen to sign and/or date the back of the card.
