 Directions

  1. Cut a sheet of the white matte cardstock to 10 x 6.5".  Fold in half to make a 5 x 6.5" card base.
  2. Cut a 4 x 5.5" panel of the white matte cardstock for the background panel.  Stamp the Kindred Spirit branch 2-3 times with the Aurora Brilliance ink, covering the whole panel. Randomly stamp the baby hands with the same ink. Heat set and then stamp pairs of the small baby feet (from the cube) with Coal Black ink diagonally across the panel as shown (on finished card).  Sponge Brilliance ink around the edges and set aside to dry.

  4. Sponge all three colors of the Brilliance inks all over a half sheet of the white matte cardstock.  Heat set, then stamp the balloons, the larger baby feet and the text with Black Onyx ink and clear emboss.  Color the balloons with the yellow and rose markers.  Add glitter glues to the balloons and bow.  Cut out when dry, cutting off the 'strings'.  If you want to cut out the openings in the bow, do that first with an Xacto knife.  Note: The balloon strings will be replaced with black wires.

  6. Turn the balloons over and attach the 6" wires as shown in Photo 4, starting with the three lower balloons  for proper placement, and taping the top ends with scotch tape. Gather the bottoms of the wires and tape together with the scotch tape, making sure it will be covered by the bow.

  8. Punch out the baby feet with the square punch and trim the text into a panel.  Edge both with black ink and layer with slightly larger white panels.  Add Worn Lipstick glitter glue dots as shown.

  10. From the Designer Mat Pad, pick two coordinating colors. Cut one piece 3.5 x 6.5" and the other piece 1.5 x 6.5".  Adhere both to the card front as shown in Photo 8.  Add faux 'stitch lines' with the gel pen.

  12. Layer the stamped background panel with a slightly larger black glossy panel and trim close with the mini pinking shears.  Attach to the center of the card.
  13. Cut a 1.375" square of chipboard for the back of the baby feet panel.  Stamp the balloons on the remaining piece of chipboard.  Cut out just the balloons and cut inside the image lines so that the chipboard is smaller than the prepared image and the edges don't show.
  14. Glue these pieces to the back of the baby feet panel and the balloons with a bead of Quick Dry Adhesive around the edges but not up to the edges (it will spread).  There's no need to cover the entire piece with the glue.  The chipboard adds just enough dimension to the pieces without making it bulky like 'pop dots' do.  You can even do a double layer if you want a little more and you're using a thinner chipboard.
  15. Referring to the finished card, attach the baby feet and text panels.  Stamp 'Congrats' with black ink above the baby feet as shown.
  16. Attach the balloons to the right side of the card with a few dots of the Quick Dry Adhesive around the edges of the chipboard and on the back of the tape holding the wires.  Adhere the bow over the tape.
  17. Sign your masterpiece and send it to someone special who just had a new arrival!  The card will fit into a 5.25 x 7.25" envelope.  This layout with the balloons could also be made into a birthday card by substituting the baby images with cakes, cupcakes, party hats, etc.
