News on the Trail

Hi Folks!

We received a great question from Lisa:

I have a question. Where do you show the projects that were sent in for the Studio Quest-Calls? I've tried to locate them, but haven't had any luck. I'm sure I've just overlooked something somewhere. I'd appreciate some direction whenever you might get a chance to write back. Thank you for the great site!! I get lots of great inspiration whenever I look around.

Lisa, thank you for your question. It reminded me that I forgot to let you all know that our Sketchbook has moved! Shame on me...

The location we had the Sketchbook at did not have the capability of allowing our reader's to have any direct interaction with it.  It was just a place you could go look at all the wonderful artwork you all do. You could leave a comment, but that was about it.  So to remedy that little problem, we moved it!

We now have a presence on Flickr.  We have a group where you can upload your own artwork. So, now you may upload the sketch cards  or projects you create using inspiration from any of the projects on Stamper's Quest without having to email them to us and waiting for us to upload!  You may also leave comments on other artist's artwork.

The monthly themed calls for Studio Quest are still actual projects that you mail in.  Please do not upload these to Flickr!  When we receive artwork for the Calls, Stephanie and I scan them and upload them, then donate everything we receive to an organization in need of cards.  We will always have a teaser post telling you that we received artwork for the monthly call, and that you can find them in the Sketchbook.

A few itty, bitty rules (there always have to be a few of them, eh?)....

First, you have to join the group in order to upload anything.  It just takes a minute to join, and it's free. When uploading your artwork, please identify yourself and where you are from. In the description area, please identify whether it is a sketch card (and what month it is for), or if it was inspired from a project in the magazine. If you use a special technique, please tell us that, too!  And ALWAYS give stamp credits. If there are no stamp credits on an upload, they will be removed! If you do not know where the stamp is from, simply put "Unknown."

You can always find the link to our Sketchbook on the Home page - right sidebar. Just click on the word "Sketchbook" and you will arrive at the Flickr group.

We also have a presence on Facebook and Papercraft Planet, and you can follow us on Twitter.

Our moderators for our groups and social network places are:

Christine Candora-Hickey - Flickr
Shelly Newkirk & Melanie Smith - Facebook and Twitter
Michael Trent - Papercraft Planet

Lisa, thanks again for the great question!  And thanks for the wonderful comments regarding Stamper's Quest. We are so happy to hear that you find a lot of inspiration here on the Trail! We hope to see some of your artwork in the Sketchbook soon!
