By: Shelly Newkirk, Artistic Guide
Finished Card Size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5"
Supplies:
Stamps:
Sentiment stamp (Sweet Grass Stamps - http://rubber-stamp-shack.com/sweet_grass_stamps.html)
Ink:
Black pigment ink pad(Stampendous)
Black ink pad (Ranger Archival)
Paper:
Card base - black/tan duplex columned (unknown)
White cardstock - (Georgia Pacific)
Other Supplies:
Curved Rectangle Nestibilities Die (Spellbinders)
Pearl-Ex (Jacquard) and Glue paper strip
Dimensional Foam Mounting Pads (Stick-2-It's)
Crafters Pick Ultimate Glue
Black fine-line embossing powder (Think Ink)
Supernova Gold medium point marker (Galaxy Marker)
Directions:
- Ink the Sweet Grass sentiment stamp with Black pigment ink. Stamp on white cardstock. (using a fine dusting of talc or an embossing bag on your cardstock before stamping prevents the embossing powder from sticking anywhere but on the pigment ink). Apply embossing powder and heat with heat gun.
- Carefully position die cut over stamped phrase. Hold die in place with low tack masking tape. Now run this through your die cut machine, leave cut paper in metal die and place soft rubber mat over BACK of die/paper and run through the machine again.
- Using the embossed edge of your now cut and dry embossed phase as a guide line, carefully draw a gold line around the edge. Sponge black ink all around edge. You decide when it looks good to you. Sometimes I like a lot and other times only a little is required.
- Cut PearlEx and Glue strip to desired width and glue to left side of the card. Use the picture provided to determine the approximate placement.
- Apply Dimensional Foam Mounting Pads to back of phrase. Attach to card in about the same position shown in picture.
How to do Pearl-Ex and Glue:
- On cardstock, apply a layer of slightly thinned white glue. Black cardstock will give a more intense color
- Apply various colors of Pearl-Ex or any other mica powder type product to the glue. There are various ways to do this - sprinkle it on, or pick up some glue on a paint brush, then use that to pick up the powder, dabbing it on the paper.
- Heat with heat gun until it bubbles. The thicker the glue - the more texture you will get.
- Additions - beads, micro beads, glitter.
