By: Shelly Newkirk, Artistic Guide

Finished Card Size: A2, 4.25" x 5.5"

Phrase (Penny Black)
Flourish (unknown)
Black dye ink pad (Archival, Ranger)
Distress Ink pads: Black Soot, Brick (Ranger)
Black pigment ink pad(Stampendous)
White card stock card base (Georgia Pacific)
DCWV Love & Wedding scrapbook kit in a stack
Other Supplies:
Gold metallic gel pen (unknown)
Crafters Pick Ultimate Glue
Fineline Black embossing powder (Think Ink)
Anti-static bag or baby powder/talc
Heat Embossing Tool (Uchida)

  1. Attach White Rose scrapbook paper to front of card base.  Trim to fit the card base.
  2. Dust with talc or an embossing bag to prevent stray bits of embossing powder from sticking to card front.
  3. Stamp phrase with lack pigment ink in upper left corner, apply fine line black embossing powder and heat with heat gun.
  4. Using black dye ink, stamp a flourish in lower right hand corner.
  5. Clean stamp, re-ink with red dye ink and stamp over the black image, offsetting slightly. The goal is to create a red "shadow".
  6. When the inks are totally dry (or heat set), highlight with the Metallic gel pen.
  7. Swirl red ink around entire outer edge of the card, then "burn" this entire outer edge by brushing lightly with black ink.
