Holiday Blizzard Project – Kittie’s Mini Accordion Album

Mini Accordion Album
with Simple Masking Technique

By: Kittie Caracciolo, Artist Guide

Mini albums are such perfect little gift items. Everyone loves to carry pictures around of their children, grandchildren and even pets or keep them at their desk at work.  You can create a one strip album with four pages or extend it to as many strips as you like.  I chose to fill my Christmas project with pictures of my darling pets and extended it to eight mini album pages (2.5 strips).

Circle Punch .75" (Stampin' Up!)

ATG Adhesive (3M)

Directions:

  1. Prepare by stamping all of the images that will require masking on pieces of Post-It or printer paper and cut out.  You need to imagine your scene before you stamp and decide how you want the images to appear. Stamp the first image on a 3.125" x 2.25" piece of white cardstock.
  2. Place mask on the first image and stamp second image.
  3. Place mask on second image and stamp third image.
  4. Place mask on third image and stamp tree.
  5. Paint your images.
  6. Paint white craft in on ground area and of dots of craft ink in the sky area with a small brush to create falling snow.  Heat emboss with white embossing powder.
  7. Replace all of your masks on your images to protect and carefully sponge Baja Breeze in the sky area.  Remove masks.
  8. Score your 10" strips of white cardstock at 2.5", 5", and 7.50".
  9. Create your inner album pages as you desire. If you wish to extend your album to more than one strip you will need to attach strips together by adhering last section of each strip to first section of the additional strip.  It is important to note that you must have an even amount of pages to attach to your album front and back for it to fold correctly. You lose one page section when attaching strips and therefore you must always add a .5" strip at the end so you will end with an even number of pages. (my picture only shows two strips, but I used 2.5 strips)
  10. Assemble album cover by attaching image scene and white layer to the front cover. Place white dots on each scallop with white Sharpie marker.  Apply two-way adhesive on the inside of album covers and attach ribbon strips. Apply two-way adhesive to the back of the first and last album page and adhere to inside of album covers.

  11. Finished album opened
