Christmas Card Challenge: Card 13
By, Shelly Newkirk, ArtisticGuide

Finished Card Size: A2, 4.25" x 5.5"

Supplies:
Stamps:
A Snowflake is Winter's Butterfly (Hero Arts)
Inks:
VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Vintage Green or a Dark Green dye ink (Vivid)
Papers:
Debbie Mumm Holiday Mat Stack (DCWV)
Dark Green cardstock (unknown)
Other Supplies:
Small snowflake punch (unknown)
White fine-line embossing powder (Think Ink)
Crafters Pick Ultimate Glue
Baby Powder
Heat Embossing Tool (Uchida)

Directions:

  1. Glue Plaid paper to card base and trim off excess.
  2. Dust Red patterned paper with Baby Powder. Stamp phrase with VersaMark and apply White fine-line embossing powder and melt with the heat gun.  (You can lightly buff the paper to get off any excess Baby Powder after the embossing has cooled.) Trim to a rectangle. Sponge the edges with Dark Green ink.
  3. Glue into position on card approximately as shown in picture (You can also wait until next pieces are done before gluing.)
  4. Punch 5 snowflakes out of Light Green patterned paper strip. Glue to Dark Green card stock and trim to make a narrow Dark Green border.
  5. Add small matching green bars at top and bottom, if desired.  (I got these when trimming down my strip and liked the look of them at either end of the longer strip.)
  6. Glue into position on the left side of card approximately as shown in picture.
  7. Sponge Dark Green dye ink around outside edge of card.

Basic Punching Tip:
How to evenly space multiple punches on a strip of paper.

Draw lines evenly across the back of the paper.  On the above punch-out, I used lines .75" apart. Use the back of the paper slot of the punch to space the punch-outs evenly from the edge. Hold the punch upside down.  This enables you to see your lines and position the punch. Then trim the strip as desired.
