Hanukkah Card
for the Inventor

By: Michael A. Trent, Artistic Guide

Completed Card Size: 5.5" x 4"

Supplies:
Stamps:
Happy Hanukkah (Club Scrap)
Papers:
White cardstock or pre-made card
Trail Mix Paper (Basic Grey - the Granola Pad)
Blue and Camel Textured Cardstock (DCWV, Fall Cardstock Stack)
Inks:
Moonstruck Ink (Close To My Heart)
Silver Star Jelly Roll Pen (Sakura)
Other:
Victorian Corner Punch (EK Success)
Dark Blue Stickles (Ranger)
Yellow Stickles (Ranger)
Mini Brads - Silver (The Angel Company)
Adhesive of choice

Directions:

  1.  Cut white cardstock 5.5" x 8" and fold in half (or use pre-made card).
  2.  Cut Trail Mix paper 5.5" x 4", and blue textured cardstock 5.25" x 3.5".  Rub Moonstruck Ink around edges of blue textured cardstock.
  3.  Punch corners of blue cardstock with Victorian punch.  Insert brads through each corner of blue, through Trail Mix paper, and adhere to card front.
  4. Stamp image on white cardstock with Moonstruck ink, trim around edges and adhere to camel textured cardstock.  Trim camel cardstock to .125" (1/8") outside of stamped image.  Adhere camel cardstock to blue cardstock.
  5. Using the Gelly Roll pen, write over the "Happy Hanukkah" phrase and the Stars of David in the background.  This will give a slight silver shimmer to the card front.
  6. Using the Stickles, lightly rub the dark blue around the edge of the stamped image, along the menorah, and the large Star of David in the lower right corner.  Apply Yellow stickles as flames on the candles.  Allow to dry.
  7. Sign, seal, and deliver your card to someone special so he or she can enjoy your artwork.

  1. This is gorgeous, Michael. I espeically love the colors and the subtle "out of the box" technique you used with both stars. Someone will be happy to receive this lovely work of art.
