Guest Artistic Guide – Joe Nathan

Joe Nathan in his studioGuest Artist
Joe Nathan

Welcome, readers, to our very first Guest Guide. Once a month SQ will feature an artist to inspire you in your artistic quest. This month we are delighted to feature rubber stamp artist, Joe Nathan.

Joe is famous for his scenic rubber stamped art, particularly his trademark lighthouses. No matter what scene he creates, there is a lighthouse hiding somewhere in his picture. His scenic art ranges from realistic scenes to bright and fun fantasies. Joe cleverly uses stamps from a variety of companies to create cohesive scenes that reach deep into the imagination.

A native of Rochester, NY, Joe credits his passion for scenic art to his father.  Joe says that he sometimes feels that influence in his studio today. Joe has had many of his pieces published in a variety of print magazines, and he is an active member of several stamping clubs.

Joe recently celebrated 45 years of marriage to wife, Suma and currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.

We know you will enjoy the artwork Joe sent us to share with you. To see more of Joe's scenic art, find techniques and tips, check out product reviews, visit his website at www.joenathan4art.com.  All of the artwork Joe is sharing with us today is 8" x 8" in size and created on white heavier weight cardstock. If you have questions for Joe about his art or techniques, leave them here and we'll make sure he gets them!
